Printing and Framing Information
Stuart works with nationally renowned print labs and canvassers along with local framers who provide hand-made mounts and frames. All finished articles are delivered by courier ensuring that they are delivered with the utmost care.
Photo Prints, Mounting and Framing
The printing is carried out by a leading 3rd party supplier, a professional print lab, who print on Fuji Crystal Archive paper (lasts 60 years without fading). Please note that the colours will be sharper and richer on the prints as websites do not use all of the embedded colour and detail information in the files.
The framing is done by a local framer, who will mount the prints (a range of of colours are available) prior to framing. He has many different frame moulds on offer that provide different shapes and colours to suit all printed images.
Stretched Canvases
The stretched canvas prints are carried out by a widely recognised 3rd party digital printer. The canvases are printed on high quality 340gsm matte canvas approved to Fine Art Trade Guild standards (guaranteed to remain crisp and vibrant for over 75 years). Each canvas is then heat-sealed for ultimate protection against scratches and splashes.
Finally your print is stretched over a 2” x 2”, (5cm x 5cm) thick wooden frame made of best quality Redwood, which is bevelled at a 75-degree angle, solid, mitred, glued and screwed. They use a very high quality kiln-dried Scandinavian Redwood pine with a moisture content of less than 12%.
The canvas is stretched right round the frame and stapled neatly at the back to make sure there are no messy tacks or staples round the edges.
Receiving Your Print / Canvas
Please be sure to open your package very carefully and inspect the contents thoroughly. If you have ordered a loose print that is delivered rolled in a tube, it is recommended that the print be unrolled and handled by a professional framer since the loose prints can be easily krinkled or damaged if not handled properly.
If there is a problem with the print or canvas that needs to be followed up on then please email info@stuarthoughton.co.uk. Please retain all packing materials.
Displaying
When displaying your print or canvas it is preferrable to do so out of direct sunlight or continuous fluorescent light.
If you have any questions then please send an email to info@stuarthoughton.co.uk.
